YOUTH INVOLVEMENT CONFERENCE

Every two years, Bellevue Youth Link hosts an all-city youth conference that sees hundreds of students, educators, parents, youth service providers, business leaders, and community leaders, voicing their ideas on what the City of Bellevue can do to make the city more engaging and inclusive to all the young people. Students that are involved with the planning committee will be involved in all aspects of the special event planning from developing the theme, designing the youth workshops to selecting the keynote and workshop speakers.

COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP AWARDS

Bellevue Youth Link recognizes their youth leaders with this annual event. The Community Leadership Awards event has provided nationally recognized quality youth leadership and community service programs in the City of Bellevue since 1990.  Any youth participating in any of the leadership roles in the Youth Link Board, Bellevue Youth Council, and various Action Teams and committees planning special events and projects including city-wide youth conferences, youth leadership training can be nominated for the award.

KIDS CARE COAT DRIVE

Collecting warm weather clothing for our families in need

What started out as Teen Closet, a place where youth in Bellevue could go to get the clothing they needed for free, ended up becoming a huge catalyst for the Kids Care Coat Drive. Year after year, families here in Bellevue would ask for jackets once the weather turned cold and the BYC Action Team would set up multiple coat drives and then distribute warm clothing to those who needed it most. Since its start, BYC has been able to donate thousands of coats and warm clothing.

UNITY THROUGH DIVERSITY

An annual event to celebrate the diversity here in Bellevue.

An event that started in 2015 to showcase and celebrate the diverse population in Bellevue has become a much-anticipated event every year. Youth are in charge of everything from the theme to the performers. It is a wonderful celebration of all the people that make up this community in Bellevue. The theme for our 2022 Unity through Diversity event is Unique and United.

THE LITTLE FREE PANTRY PROJECT

Helping with food insecurity in our community

Since the onset of the pandemic, the youth wanted to do something lasting for their community. With the most pressing need being food insecurity, the need for additional help in supplying families with food seemed evident. With the help from The Little Free Pantries in Seattle and the Bellevue Neighborhood Church, the Youth Link Program was able to place their first pantry in the Crossroads Neighborhood. The next one will be placed early January 2022 in Factoria/Newport area!
